Chinese Society of International Economic Law 2014 Annual conference and Centennial Memorial for Mr. Yao Meizhen was held in Wuhan University from October 31st to November 2nd. 300 representatives from the Ministry of Commerce of PRC, Renmin University of China, Tsinghua University, China University of Political Science and Law, Fudan University, Nankai University, Xiamen University and many other universities attended the conference. This conference specifically established a panel for international maritime law discussion. Professor Li Zhiwen, deputy dean of DMU Law School, led a delegation to attend the conference.
Professor Guo Ping, Wang Shumin, Xu Hongju and several other teachers from our school attended the conference as invited. They submitted papers to the conference as well, such as “Analysis on the Elements of the Change of Real Rights of Ships in our Country” “Carbon Labeling Scheme: the Game between Developed and Developing Countries” “Research on Legal Issues of Trade and Investment Facilitation of Shanghai Cooperation Organization”, etc. Professor Li Zhiwen made a speech on the elements of the change of real rights of ships in our country on the morning of Nov 2nd in “Maritime Law” discussion group, and triggered a hot discussion, which earned a high comment from the participants. In addition, Dr. Lv Fangyuan, Dr. Zhang Le, Dr. Wu Xiaoming, Dr. Zhang Tong, Dr. Zhang Silu and several master students like Yang Xin attended this academic conference and submitted 7 academic papers. Among the papers, “On Legal Guarantee of Promoting the Cruise Industry Development” , written by Dr. Lv Fangyuan, passed the review of Chinese International Economic Law Doctoral Student Forum, which is held once every four years. Dr. Lv was asked to make a keynote speech, and acquired a good response.
During this conference, our school owned a larger amount of both participants and papers compared with the past, which has a significant meaning for improving our school’s popularity and promoting communication and cooperation with relevant theoretical and practical departments.
